28m Cruising Yacht Concept
Fairlie’s Naval Architect Paul Spooner has recently returned from the Monaco Superyacht Show 2007 having launched his new 28m Cruising Yacht Concept.
This Concept Cruising Yacht has been developed with the same principles in mind as were used in the development and design of ‘Niebla’, Fairlie’s first in-house design and build yacht (LOA 18m). ‘Niebla’, launched in 2005 now enjoys winters in the Caribbean and summers in the Mediterranean.
This concept features a thoughtfully designed long keeled hull which offers many benefits over a modern fin keeled cruising yacht. Firstly, incredible directional stability and secondly, and more importantly; motion in a seaway, a long keeled hull enjoys a wonderfully gentle and relaxed motion, the issue of slamming is forgotten. This new yacht has not been designed for local weekend cruising, she is designed for extensive, world voyaging.
This yacht will be built by the same craftsmen that have restored the famous classics at the Fairlie Restorations Yard, and she will be built with the same insistence on perfection and attention to detail that Fairlie have become famous for.
